History

From a very young age, I was enamored by the concept of building a server of my own by the likes of Mineplex, DifferentCraft, Airship Pirates, and other servers. I was too young to make my own server at the time, but as I got older I started to realize that I could make my aspirations a reality.  I started Iterations in 2017 as an exercise in Minecraft server design and as a place to share with some of my friends. For the majority of its existence it was a private server only shared among a few people I knew, but as time went on it began to grow into a progressively larger community. This server is officially known as Iteration 14, representing 14 separate rebuilds of the core server mechanics and world. Over the past several years, I have had a seasonal server model dependent on my abilities to maintain a balanced and enjoyable server, waxing and waning with player interest in my efforts. Iteration 14 represents a departure from that model into a long-term server that is the culmination of years of learning and dedication. 

Iteration 14 officially launched in December of 2024, but experienced a large period of inactivity and lack of development as the original playerbase was not particularly interested. As passionate as I am about this project, I was not going to  spend significant time working on developing new features or fixing bugs in the absence of any interested players. However, mid-to-late 2025 represented a resurgence in interest in the server from the core playerbase and a corresponding impetus on my part to finish realizing my vision for this server. I set myself to fixing bugs, introducing entire new features to our set of plugins, refining existing features, and preparing the server for a more public presence beyond the tight-knit core. 

I am immensely proud of my work and grateful to the admin team that has signed on to support my dream, and I welcome you,  player, to the world and community of Iteration 14.
